Softball swept at home

The Saints lost their league opening doubleheader Tuesday at home to the Lower Columbia Devils 9-1, 3-1. Coach Meadow McWhorter said the game against Lower Columbia was “frustrating for the team.” According to McWhorter, the Saints have the motto “Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

Over the break, the Saints participated in the Columbia Basin Tournament in Pasco, Wash., on March 18-19. They lost to Spokane 2-1, tied with Big Bend 4-4, and shut out Green River 19-0. In the single-elimination, on the second day, they lost to South Puget Sound 24-15. They then met South Puget Sound again in their home opener March 28. MHCC split the doubleheader, losing their first game 9-4, but won their second game 13-1.
