For the first time in MHCC’s history, the actual words of Martin Luther King rang through the blustery halls Thursday in honor of the upcoming holiday.

Catrina Bush, multicultural program coordinator, headed up the event that played King’s famous speech, “I Have a Dream…” in the Main Mall during the noon hour, Thursday.
“MLK and civil rights is a catch-all in a sense that we are all educated about MLK’s contributions all through school, but it’s better to hear it from the horse’s mouth,” said Bush, “How better to listen to the actual speech and hear his words to better understand what he is all about and what he lived and died for.”

As a student activities board member, Bush also has plans for other events and even a multicultural club.

“My job is to make sure all groups of students are equally represented [at MHCC],” said Bush.
