‘Aviator’ really takes off

“The Aviator,” while a little long, does a very good job of revealing Howard Hughes in a way that most have not known him. It is visually exciting, and thoroughly entertaining, although it seems to be on an extreme scale of way up, or way down, with not a lot in the neutral zone. Katherine Hepburn’s character is so well played, she was believable from the beginning to the end, as were Ava and Jean, though not to the same depth.

If you are an aviation enthusiast, this definitely hits the mark, and Martin Scorsese has given his flair. I believe this showcases the supporting cast including Leonardo Dicapro, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, and Alec Baldwin highly. Except for the need to tighten some of the longer scenes of the movie a little, this would be one of the year’s best films.
