WASG President Bud Khuth, along with ASG Vice President Stephen Emery, held a workshop Tuesday in the Council Chambers where they discussed candidate information for the upcoming 2005-2006 elections for president and vice president.

On April 19 and 20 elections will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the library and college center.

There are 15 positions in ASG. The Associated Student Activities Board (SAB) holds important positions that are instrumental to the growth and future of MHCC.

Elections Coordinator Jeremy Bigelow explained that March 29 is the last day to file applications and there will be a mandatory meeting for candidates on March 30 at noon in the Council Chamber. Campaigning begins the next day. On April 5 and 6, the presidential debates will be held at noon in the College Center. On April 26 and 27 runoffs will be held and on May 9 there will be the newly elected ASG introduction.

There are three simple words Khuth said he lives by as he thinks about the sacrifices, focus and time that demand so much from him in his role as MHCC Associated Student Government (ASG) president: “You’ll be fine.”

“There is no right path. Just keep your eyes open and look for opportunities,” said Khuth on becoming president of ASG.
