The Advocate won 10 awards at the Oregon Newspapers Foundation’s annual Collegiate Day conference, the second most it has ever won.

Sponsored by the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association, the Collegiate Day Conference was held at Western Oregon University in Monmouth on Friday, May 6.

College newspapers all over Oregon submitted 550 entries in 22 categories, and were judged in three divisions.

The Advocate’s editor in chief Kevin Hudson said, “A lot of times, at a college, you write in a vacuum. These awards serve to validate the work we’ve been doing.”
