Radio Broadcasting leadership in question

The radio program still does not have a new adviser for the 2005-2006 academic year.

The present adviser, Jeff Young, is retiring in August, and won’t be here to start fall term.
Human Resources at MHCC said that they need a requisition from the department dean before they can begin to look for a replacement.

“The process won’t take less than a month after we get the req,” said Pam Polito, human resources administrative assistant. Polito said after human resources gets the requisition and advertise, the process can take at least four to six weeks.

Dean of instruction Beth Pitonzo said, “How the courses will be filled is under consideration. No decisions have been made.”

Pitonzo said whether Young’s duties will be divided between present part-time instructors or a full-time instructor hasn’t been decided yet.

Radio program student Joaquin Gutierrez said last week he thought one of the part-time instructors was interested in the position and is a favorite with the students.
President Silverman was unavailable for comment.
