Prevention in action School takes down stadium light before it joins its fallen comrade
A stadium light was removed during the snowfall Thursday morning, after it had been determined dangerous. Following the fall of one of the six stadium lights on Feb. 10, the rest were subsequently tested for safety precautions. There are four two-inch bolts that anchor the light standards to the ground. The standard at the northeast end of the field was found to have one bolt in bad condition. The college stadium has been closed and 100-feet to each side of the northeast standard is taped off for the last month. He also said the people getting fined get mad for being ticketed and the most common defense is, “I pay taxes, I have a right to use the track.” Now that the standard has been taken down, the college stadium will be re-opened and people will be able to use the track and other facilities.
