Anthony’s top music picks of 2004: part two |
As promised, here’s the remaining half of my list. This half was a little harder to create but I feel I did my best. So enjoy the rest of 2004 and get ready for what could be an interesting 2005. Top five bass players: Behemoth’s bass player Iscariah proved once again that he has the talent. After the 2004 release of “Demigod,” more people started to talk about them as a band not just a band, but with a name. Top five drummers: Three words: “Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia.” Nick Baker’s break-out album into Norwegian black metal world. His previous work with Cradle of Filth was great but he really was able to show off his true talent by joining Dimmu Borgir in 1999 and then being thrown out of the band in January 2004. Top five keyboardists: Keyboardists rarely get the spotlight except for Mustis of "Dimmu Borgir." At a young age of 24, this young black metal superstar has made a huge impact. Just being in Dimmu Borgir alone puts him on the hill with some of the greatest keyboard players out there. Top five worst bands: Okay in just a few words, these bands SUCK! Okay, it's time to move on and get away from the bands of your high school days. Classic bands or not, they suck! I can’t stand Metallica or Korn. I mean, so what if back in the days they were good? Bands/artists to watch in 2005: I want to highlight Angtoria. This is an up-and-coming band started by Sarah Jezebel Deva. I see great things for her and this band in 2005. Sarah's work with Cradle of Filth is great but it's time to see a new side of this great vocalist.
