Tips for Super Bowl party touchdown
First you need to decide what to offer as snacks. Would you offer chips and dip, or a platter? Chips and dip may make your guests thirsty, but it’s a cheap way to feed them, costing up to $11 for two bags and two jars. Platters have pre-cut everything (cheese, lettuce, meats, etc.) so they save preparation time, but they can get pretty expensive, costing upwards of $12. However, you can choose to use platters for main course items as well as snacks, depending on the size of the platter. Deciding what drinks to offer is one of the most important decisions to make. You could offer soda, water, juice or something like that. If your guests are old enough, you could offer alcoholic beverages alone or in supplement to other drinks. Just make sure that you bought enough for everyone and, if you offer alcohol to your guests, don’t forget that you could be held responsible, and be sued by the victim, for drunk driving accidents that can be traced back to your house. Next, you want to choose what to have for lunch/dinner. Do you want pizza or take-out? If you go with pizza, it could cost you $5 to $15 per pizza, depending on the size and the amount of toppings. Pizza is a crowd-pleasing favorite, and relatively inexpensive. It would possibly cost $2 to $20 per item that is ordered, but you could pass a hat around and gather a fund. Also, if you have any of it delivered, don’t forget to tip the driver, since they may not be reimbursed for gas, and they didn’t get to stay home and watch the Super Bowl. Typically, you only need to tip the driver 15 percent, but you may tip them more. Finally, decide on what are you going to offer as entertainment before and after the kickoff. You could do some trivia games that are football themed, play board and card games or play music and socialize, it may, however, be best if you save the karaoke for after the game. Whatever entertainment you decide, make sure that you turn it off when the game starts, unless, of course, you want the background noise, in which case you and your guests will be missing out on the most expensive (and often entertaining) advertising created.
