Explore black holes in the planetarium
The public is invited to go "In Search of Black Holes" at Mt. Hood Community College this month, with an hour-long presentation in the Planetarium Sky Theater that will explore one of the greatest mysteries in space.

On May 11, the planetarium will house a presentation covering the discovery of these bizarre "holes in the fabric of space-time." Visitors will have the opportunity to see a number of images from the Hubble Space Telescope that show black holes in action, and will learn about the recent discovery of an enormous black hole at the center of our own galaxy.

"In Search of Black Holes" will be presented on Monday, May 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sky Theater. Public planetarium shows are presented on the second Monday of each month through August. Visitors are seated on a first come/first served basis. Children are always welcome and the planetarium is wheelchair accessible. Admission is $1.

See a sunrise with Exercise Boot Camp
Mt. Hood Community College is offering "Exercise Boot Camp" now and twice more this summer.

One of the perks of "Exercise Boot Camp," according to instructor Elizabeth Rizzo, is the chance to see the sunrise, and the knowledge that at the end of a one-hour class, your mind and body are in tip-top shape.

"Exercise Boot Camp" (PE185FE) offers different levels and forms of exercise for anyone over the age of 16. Weather permitting, the class meets outside. The gym is also used for free weights, aerobic exercise and other circuit style programs.

The upcoming course meets five days a week for five weeks from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. beginning May 2. Two additional sessions will be offered during the summer term, beginning June 20 and July 25. For more information, call MHCC Health and Physical Education at 503-491-7450.
