Running towards success
Would you believe that a simple game of tag could change your life? That is the very thing that happened to Sheryl Page, while playing tag with her brother, he mentioned how fast she is and should think about doing track, and that is exactly what she did. Sheryl started track in the seventh grade and has spent the last six years running towards a great many achievements. Sheryl placed 12th among 200 other runners in the NWAACC, Sundoger invite in Seattle, WA. Last weekend. Sheryl expressed how nervous she was before the race, she had never raced against so many. She put her nerves aside and passed 188 other runners. This grand accomplishment, and we should all be so proud that she is part of MHCC. This is a young woman who knows how to work hard for what she wants. When asked Sheryl whom she is inspired by, without hesitation she said, “Jerry Ligran” who is also a runner and a writer. Sheryl has found comfort and security at MHCC, she told me, “ I enjoy the family support of MHCC and my team mates.” Sheryl looks forward to a future in lending a hand to those in need. She wants to work with families and children. We could be so lucky to have such a go-getter giving support to our children.
