A former top CIA spy asserted on CBS’s 60 Minutes April 23 episode that President Bush had been offered information six months before the U.S. invasion of Iraq that Saddam Hussein did not possess weapons of mass destruction. Tyler Drumheller said, “The [administration] group that was dealing with preparation for the Iraq war ... said, ‘Well, this isn’t about intel anymore. This is about regime change.’
However, two days after the report aired, the media has largely ignored the report, except MSNBC’s Countdown with Keithi Olbermann and some brief wire articles covered the report.
