MAX could attract more students

TriMet’s latest installment is the MAX Green Line which connects the Clackamas Town Center to Pioneer Square and could help attract new students to Mt. Hood Community College, according to engineering major Andrea June.

“It will help people who don’t have access to a car,” said June. “It’s more direct (than a bus) so if they (MHCC students) don’t have a car they can have an opportunity to get to school.”

Construction for the Green Line started in February 2007 and was officially ready for use Sept. 12.

The Green Line has eight new stations and five new park and ride locations.

“I think it’s great because it connects all areas of Portland and it’s a way of going green, eco-friendly,” said June.

The Green Line runs every 15 minutes on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
