Copy card system added in library

MHCC has installed copier card machines in the library which will allow students to operate the machines with the equivalent of a debit card.
According to Diane Schmitt, library public access services manager, the copier card system was implemented because there was a theft with the previous system.
It costs 10 cents to make copies in the library. The copier cards are now available for purchase. This card must be purchased from the machine in the library and costs $1; after purchasing the copy card, it comes with a 50-cent credit. There are no requirements for this card.
“I like it, it makes life a little easier,” said Josh English, a public service assistant. The card can take up to a maximum of $20 in credit.
“I haven’t used it, but it looks convenient, plus I hardly use the copy machines but I look forward to using it in the future,” said Ashley English, an MHCC student.
If lost, the cards cannot be replaced and the money cannot be refunded, according to Schmitt.
