Asian Culture Club returns to MHCC
The Advocate
The Asian Culture Appreciation Club has been reestablished at MHCC after a two-year hiatus.
The club encourages student to share their culture and recognize the heritage of different regions of Southeast Asia, including appreciation of the different food, language, dialogue and music.
The club also hopes to help students use skills learned in a classroom setting out in real life and to build student leadership skills.
For anyone interested in joining this club or in international culture, there will be international students performing at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Moon Fest at the East Port Plaza located on 4000 SE 82nd Ave.
The first meeting of the year is still being determined, club adviser Nirandone Sanethavong said. “We are looking for a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer for the Asian Club. The beauty is, we are recruiting for these positions and members of the club. Some knowledge about these Southeast Asia cultures is a plus.”
In the past, the Asian Club was one of the most active student clubs on campus.
