Aquatic Center dome repair causes pool closures

The dome cover for the 50-meter pool at the MHCC Aquatic Center developed a tear in the fabric during inflation last Saturday.
“It has been repaired and re-inflated,” said Dick Byers, director of facilities management.
Although the cover is repaired, the pool will remain closed until Monday while the the dome is re-inflated, according to the MHCC website.
As a result of the delay and closure, the Mt. Hood Swim Team had to relocate practices next week to other neighboring aquatic locations.
Once the pool re-opens, the swim team will resume training in the Aquatic Center and MHCC will open registration for the following: the Salmon Run Swim Lesson Program for children 8 months and up; adult lap swims; first aid, CPR and AED classes; American Red Cross lifeguard training; and college-level swim classes.
