Registration for summer quarter is open

Online registration for summer classes started Wednesday at 12:01 a.m. for returning students and began this morning at 12:01 a.m. for all students.

The summer class schedule is available online at http://www.mhcc.edu/pages/110.asp or in the registration office.

 

Deadline today to get name in program

Graduating students who want their name printed in the commencement program for this year’s graduation ceremony have to apply for graduation by May 15. The graduation application is available online at http://www.mhcc.edu/pages/1384.asp.

 

President to host more town hall meetings’

MHCC President John Sygielski will continue to hold town hall meetings to gather ideas on how to reduce the college budget. The Maywood Park Campus will host a meeting May 19 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in rooms 223 and 224.

The meetings will return to the Town and Gown Room on the main campus on May 27 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

 

MEChA to host soccer tournament

MEChA is sponsoring the Mt. Hood Soccer Cup Saturday and Sunday. The soccer tournament will take place at the MHCC soccer field. It will be a 7 v. 7 tournament. For more information, e-mail [email protected] or call 503-680-7735.

 

Perceptions to launch 2009 edition

Perceptions will celebrate this year’s edition of the MHCC literary magazine May 28 at 6 p.m. at McMenamins Edgefield Ballroom.

 

Pizza feed fundraiser planned Thursday

The Image Makers is hosting a pizza feed fundraiser Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 1127 (the cosmetology salon). The fundraiser supports a cosmetology student who is battling cancer. For more information, contact [email protected].

 

Frisbee Tournament set for May 28-29

An Ultimate Frisbee tournament will take place at the upper soccer field May 28 and 29. The tournament will start at noon and each team will be composed of seven players and play up to seven points in single elimination games. Showcase to be held Thursday

Pamela Weatherspoon from the Columbia Northwest Big Brothers Big Sisters and Ulf Spears of the Portland Housing Center will discuss volunteering opportunities and home ownership on Thursday at 11:45 a.m. in the Town and Gown Room. Refreshments will be provided.

 

Retirement party for dean Tuesday

A retirement party will be held for Dean of Information Resources Jan Marie Fortier on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Bob Scott Room.
