MHCC was closed due to inclement weather for several days last year. Knowing what to do in these circumstances is beneficial to both students and faculty.
Local television and radio networks are notified of college closures or late openings, and weather-related news can also be found on their websites. Up-to-date news can be checked online at the MHCC website or by calling the college general number (503-491-6422). When a school closure is announced, all classes, events and activities are cancelled for that entire day and night. Students and faculty do not have to report to class or work. The gates will be locked except to allow emergency crews to work.
Late starts are a temporary school closure until the announced starting time. College gates will be locked until 30 minutes prior to the delayed opening time.
Closures include the Gresham main campus, The Bruning Center, the Maywood Park campus, East Multnomah County Head Start, and other college locations unless otherwise noted.
